Some exciting things have been going on at Page Chaser HQ, and we're excited to announce a new way to join our community. That's right - we're starting a book club! With SO MANY amazing books on everyone's TBR list, knowing where to start can be intimidating. Plus, it's always more fun when you have people to discuss your book with.
If you're looking to get back into regular reading or see a book on our list that intrigues you, we'd love for you to jump in! For the month of November, to celebrate the upcoming movie, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (starring Tom Hanks!!), we're reading The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers by Amy Hollingsworth.
What is the Page Chaser Book Club?
- Guided Reading: We'll give you a simple plan to let you know which chapters to read each week throughout the month.
- Weekly Discussion Questions: Each week, we'll share a few discussion questions for the week's reading on our Facebook page. As you read, comment with your answers and opinions!
- Video Conversations: At the end of each week, we'll post a video of us discussing the week's questions and our favorite things about the week's text.
How do I join the Book Club?
It's easy! Just follow Page Chaser on Facebook to get updates and comment beneath the posted questions to take part in the book club discussion. Who knows - you may even get a response from Amy Hollingsworth!
At the end of each week, check out our video discussions and tell us if you agree with us! (Hopefully the image below gives you a glimpse of our enthusiasm about this book. Ignore me clearly holding the camera remote.)
About The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers:
Celebrate the release of A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood starring Tom Hanks with an inside look on Mr. Rogers' spiritual legacy. It shows us a man who, to paraphrase the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "preached the gospel at all times; when necessary he used words."
Tom Brokaw of NBC Nightly News once said of the American icon Fred Rogers, "Mister Rogers was an ordained minister, but he never talked about God on his program. He didn't need to."
Eight years before his death, Fred Rogers met author, educator, and speaker Amy Hollingsworth. What started as a television interview turned into a wonderful friendship spanning dozens of letters detailing the driving force behind this gentle man of extraordinary influence. Educator? Philosopher? Psychologist? Minister? Here is an intimate portrait of the real Mister Rogers.
The Simple Faith of Mr. Rogers focuses on Mr. Rogers' spiritual legacy, but it is much more than that. It shows us a man who, to paraphrase the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "preached the gospel at all times; when necessary he used words."
